Re: Question about Scal
Margaret DaMoude
Julie,
What do I need to do to make sure you get credit for the purchase of SCAL5?
I am getting a new computer in a few days. Do I just need to download this in a folder and install when I set up computer?
Thank you!!
Maggie

SCAL2 still works with the Legacy Cricut Machines. But the latest version, SCAL5, has a lot more features, including importing MTC files. You need to pay for the upgrade to SCAL5. You can keep SCAL2 on your
computer, and still install SCAL5. I do that by installing SCAL5 in its own directory during the installation process. SCAL5 can also cut to the Legacy Cricut Machines if you install the free libcutter program.
My affiliate link for SCAL is

You can get Libcutter here:

I agree. MTC is the best!

Did you try doing a double pass when cutting? That might take care of the problem.

Re: Help Needed - MTC & Cricut cutting problem
Hi Liz, Thank you for responding. It appears to only happen with fonts. All my fonts are TT. I have tried overcut and it doesn’t help. I’m attaching 2 pictures of what is happening with the slipped cut.

check your speed, blade pressure and blade depth for the material you are cutting...you can check on line for Cricut Expression cutting guides...there are quite a few to choose from
I'm hoping I can explain what I need help with...

Thinking some more, try doing 2 passes to get a complete cut. The overcut may have been in the software and not something the user could control. Liz On 1/5/2021 10:27 PM, Liz A wrote:

I can't remember when Andy added the overcut option in MTC. I am pretty sure it is in the cutter plugin as an option. Pretty sure the Cricut supported that, but I don't have the plugin install right now or the right version of MTC set up, on a thumb drive somewhere, LOL. Overcut makes the cutter go past the place it started the cut, so that a shape is completely cut. Liz On 1/5/2021 8:17 PM, Julie Flanagan

Re: Help Needed - MTC & Cricut cutting problem

The image on the screen tells you the data that is buffering to the cutter. The blade moves as that data is processed. I am no techie on this, but it seems like it is not significant that what you see on the screen if different from what you see the cutter doing. But, you should not have to use a knife to complete cuts. Maybe some of our techie members can chime in on this.

Help Needed - MTC & Cricut cutting problem
I'm hoping I can explain what I need help with...
I'm using MTC 4.1.0 cutting with a Cricut Expression. When I select cut, I can see on my computer screen that the image is cutting, but when I look at the Cricut, the blade isn't in sync with what I'm seeing on my computer screen. I have to use an exacto knife to complete the cuts. Has this happened to anyone? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you Laurie

I used Recollections. This usually cuts well for me when I need 65# cardstock. I also like the variety colors in the package.

Papercut Bundle - My Projects
Julie Flanagan

I was asked by several people to share pictures of some of the projects I made with it. It took me a week to find the time to get them done, but I finally finished cutting them today. One is an album page I made for a baby album I am making for our upcoming 18th grandchild. I enlarged the Heart Intricate Papercut design in the bundle, and added a couple of layers. One is an inline, and the other is an outline of the original. Then I glued the layers together. One of our toddler grandsons loves bees and hexagons, so I made the Honeycomb Bee papercut into a card with a layered front. The third project I made as a topper for a valentine card. It is one of the Christmas laser cut ornament designs, cut at the original size. I added a couple of outline layers and assembled them using 3D pop-dots. If you purchased this set, I hope you will select your favorites and show us the project you are making with them. I think these designs will all look lovely in shadow box frames. Happy Craafting! So I had to look at create N craft. I don't see where they are
selling any brand of cutter blades or blade holders. Was this a
special deal? On 1/2/2021 1:29 PM, karenmars63 via

Re: Replacement blade holder for knk zing air

The KNK Force is a very different kind of cutter as yours, do not use that blade holder as it may damage your cutter. At least that is my understanding of having a Force and knowing how the blade holder works. If you want original blades get them from plottergeeks, who have taken over supporting the KNK cutters...the owners retired, and Chad their son is plottergeeks.

Check this document to try to recover your MTC registration Key. https://www.iloveknk.com/Support/Tutorials/Make-The-Cut/Retrieving-MTC-and-PCS-Registrations.pdf
If you cannot find it, and really don't like using other software, you might need to purchase it again. It is well worth it for what it still does. But this time make sure that you save your registration key somewhere OFF of your computer, so that you can access it if you should need it.
