Thanks so much! I will give it a try. I thought I had done it before with no problem. Hopefully they fix that bug soon.

Re: Export as Svg

The design is probably there. In the program (InVue or Inspiration Studio) go to Edit -> Select All Then look at the dimensions. If it's tiny, you'll want to enlarge it. If it's so large that it obscures the mat, decrease the size. Make sure aspect ratio is clicked on in InVue. Using the transform ->Width or transform -> Height in Inspiration Studio will maintain the aspect ratio. Then use the position function to move the design to the mat (0,0 or center on mat, etc).. If, after resizing and moving to the mat, the design still cannot be seen I would change the line color - just in case the lines exported as white or transparent. If nothing is wrong with the file you should be able to see the design at this point. HTH

Re: Export as Svg

Before exporting to Invue, I select all. With Gold lock icon selected at the top of the screen, I type in 80% in H box and press Enter. Then Ctrl+Shift+S to export as SVG. The latest InVue update has a bug that has been reported that I assume will be fixed soon. SVG imports were working properly before the latest software update, but now the sizing of all pieces may not be correct. Some pieces are coming in so large that you may not see them on the InVue screen. Once in InVue, select all (Ctrl+A) and resize to what the measurements were in MTC. If you still don't see the cutting lines, change the line color to black. It may be that the lines do not have a color and changing them to black will allow you to see them. It may help for you to send the troublesome SVG file to Pazzles support so their software developer will have more to work with in resolving the SVG import issues.

Re: MTC software question.....
Julie Flanagan
Any design that you can open or import into Make The Cut or download from the 11,800+ user contributed cutting files in the MTC Gallery may be selected (Ctrl+A), record the height and width of the selection, and exported as SVG (Ctrl+Shift+S). The SVG files may be imported into Design Space for cutting to the Explore using the Vector Upload option. You will need to resize the design once in Design Space to the same size it was in Make The Cut. If there are score lines in the any of the shapes, In Design Space, be sure to select the shape and score line, right click , and select Attach before going to cut.

My daughter has a Silhouette and she told me she is able to show just the outline around a shape by making a shadow with a colored dashed outline and the rest of the shadow transparent. I don't see that option in MTC. If I make the shape white, the outline is also white. I tried using the print option "print wireframe only" but then of course I can't print the shape that I want an outline around at the same time. I have been doing it through Adobe Illustrated but it's complicated. Any suggestions?

I’ve decided I’m going to download the free MTC trial and see how I
get along with it. I had been considering Inkscape but I so need user

due to Provo Craft suing all third party software manufacturers there is no
other software out there that can be used with their machines. However the good
news is that while you can not cut with the MTC software and your new Explore
you can use MTC to design, trace, and create SVG files and then export them from
MTC and use the files you created in your cricut explore. Since the explore can
import SVG files you can use outside software for creating as long as it will
allow you to save or export files in the SVG format. MTC, SCAL, and Inkscape are
popular one that do that. Inkscape is free but NOT user friendly MTC and SCAL
are not free but very user friendly. You can download the free trials and see
how you like them. However, you will not be able to save files as SVG format
while you are running them in trial mode.

Sometimes major projects take a bit longer than we had anticipated. The kit is not yet posted, but keep watching for it. Looks like fun. When I set up my files to cut a number at the same time, and put them together assembly line style, it actually goes quite smoothly. And the results of your labor are so stunning. People think you worked days on them!

Re: Blade Holders on Clearance
Stephanie E
Thanks for the info about this, Julie. My order arrived today. I was a bit concerned because the description of the blade holders in the invoice just said "deep cut blades" (ie, nothing about the holder). All is great - I got 3 holders along with a bunch of sale priced embossing folders.
I did find that another blade holder I have will fit (& work in) the Vue. Last weekend I tried a Graphtec type holder that takes roland blades (no springs to worry about). I had bought it for my Cameo a couple of years ago. I'm used to having unlimited blade depths - as opposed to the click holder - so I was thrilled to find that this blade holder would work with the Vue. I felt that the blade holder that came with my Vue was defective, so having 3 replacements PLUS my old Graphtec holder makes me happy :)
