Book Mark

Gail <jobiegg@...>

I made this book mark for Easter and thought some might like to have it.  I uploaded it to skydrive so I could leave the resolution high enough for you to print a nice copy on cardstock.  Enjoy.  BTW, these pictures are from free stock from google images.

This album has 1 photo and will be available on SkyDrive until 6/10/2013.

I did google it.I can't get info on something that looks like this. The window cling is much thinner. This is thicker and kind of stiff.

I was given a bunch of vinyl from a man that had a business and died. Some of it says marking film. No sticky side. I don't know what this is used for or how to use it. Can anyone give me info on this vinyl?
TIA,
Diane

Re: possible replacement cutter

Carol Bauer (Designs Sew Fine)

I have the 24" Max Air and I couldn't be happier with it!  It is fabulous!  You will love it.  It comes with nice STURDY tables.  The other popular cutters do not come with tables.  You have to buy them separately and they are quite expensive and not as sturdy.

And I have to agree with Sandy H - Sandy McCauley provides excellent support - both before and after you purchase.

Check out the 24" KNK cutters.  You can go to iliveknk.com for the idea of the kind of support available.   Or you can go to knkusa.com for info on all their cutters.  I have a 24" KNK which im happy with.  I also have the smaller Zing.  There is a new Bluetooth 24" called Max Air.  It is even more powerful than my current 24".  Sandy McCauley provides excellent support.

Image Caching for Textures VidTut - Xpost

ScrappyDew

Another short video tutorial for those using textures for Print and Cuts - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvja8BT_UII
It's called Image caching and it's auto enabled.  The video goes over why you may want to keep it on as well as why imported images may look blurry when you have image caching enabled.

Re: registration marks not working

Julie Flanagan

Contact your vendor. They should have some suggestions for you. You might want to first try turning off your cutter and restarting your computer to refresh the resources. Sometimes when my software or cutter is not behaving as it should this will fix it. If it doesn't resolve the issue, you may need additional technical help from your supplier.

Hi, I am having a problem with the print and cut. I get up to completing the 3rd registration mark but instead of the laser going back to place of origin, it moves about 1/2 an inch away from the 3rd registration point and stays there. Any suggestions? when I go to cut, the cut out is made next to the print.

Re: Mat Size and Zoom

Julie Flanagan

As far as I know, you can use the Custom mat option to make a virtual any size that your cutter can handle.

You can zoom in as close as 1000% and as small at 10%. You can use the Zoom slider on the right side of the screen on the Main toolbar, Virtual mat tab. Or you can use one of the many shortcut keys to zoom in or out. See the list of zoom shortcut keys on the last page of the reference document called I.03_MTC_0451_Toolbars.pdf  posted here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MTC_Tuts/files/01_Introductory_Lessons/

Ctrl+3 zooms you in to 40%. You can see the entire virtual mat at this zoom level.

Julie :)
This makes so much sense! I had not read this tip before :)

One more question...
I have searched tutorials to find out how to make the virtual mat as large as it will go..in MTC.

I keep having to use the scroll bar to get to the 8.5 or 12" length of the project (tutorial) and I know there is likely a way to make the virtual mat smaller so that I can do everything without scrolling. It would be great to see the entire project at once as well :)
Thank you!

Draw the largest rectangle that your cutter can handle directly on your mat, so you will know exactly where to place your paper or other media. Practicing with a pen rather than a blade will save wear and tear on blades, mats and paper. > Julie, craftymusician@...
