Re: ATTENTION: is the new stable MTC 4.4.0 mac compatible
BEN BARTLETT
Bryan!! Wow---thank you so very much for letting us know about the update for the mac, too---double WOW!! When I clicked on the download, it pulled up the little screen/box/window that Andy made that has the MTC bridge and the box---and video and instructions---that appears to be like I had initially done when loading it on the mac originally. To make sure--Do I do everything that it says to do ---again? Or do I do something else since the original mac version is already operable? thank you sooooo very much for your wisdom on this:) be blessed ~Beyond Measure Tammy www.urbeyondmeasure.com To: MTC_Tuts@... My understanding is that these machines are home versions of commercial vinyl cutters. They are basically the same thing, all variations on a theme. The programs we use, including MTC, have been developed with the home crafter in mind, to use with materials other than vinyl.

Re: about tutorials ?
Julie Flanagan
I can watch them on my Roku. If Vimeo is available on yours, then yes, you should be able to watch the webinars on it. Here is some information that Gabe posted at the MTC Forum referring to Roku, but perhaps the procedure using your box is similar: "go to "Photos and Video." Then scroll through that till you find "Vimeo." Add that channel. Then start up the Vimeo channel and use the Vimeo search function to find "mtc llc" and it will show you the MTC webinars. Then I found a webinar I wanted to see and I "liked" it to put it in my favorites list. You can do that a few times to get several videos in that list and make them easy to find. Re: Silver Bullet and Mtc
Julie Flanagan
I don't have a silver bullet or cougar, so I cannot address your issues specifically. However, you might try the MTC plugin for KNK Maxx, as it has been updated more recently. Set the baud rate to 38400 You do need to change the deault settings for the X and Y numbers. You should install both the Cougar plugin and the KNK plugin first before trying to cut from MTC to your Cougar or Silver Bullet. See the first post in this thread at the MTC forum to review the features of the KNK Plugin. Andy covered this information during one of the Webinar. Here is a link to the May 3 webinar video recording. The discussion covering the new plugin is about 35 minutes and 30 seconds into the webinar. Here are a few tips for cutting from MTC to the Cougar or Silver Bullet using the KNK plugin: 1. Open MTC 2. Use the virtual mat tab on the right side of the screen to select your mat orientation to portrait. 3. Put your design work in the bottom right hand side of the mat when finished designing. 4. Mark your mat in inches with a marker, and indicate 2 inches from the right on the mat. 5. Set your laser to the 2 inch mark from the bottom right side on your mat. 6. Load your paper on the mat. 7. Plug in the power cable to your machine. 8. Plug in the USB cable to the machine and connect to your computer. 9. Turn on the power to the cutter. Make sure the computer has recognized your new hardware. 10. Download the KNK plugin from here and install it. 11. From the Cut Project With menu at the top of the screen, select Klic 'n Kut Series 12. Select KNK Maxx 13. Set the baud rate to 38400 14. Select the Com port (not Com 3) 15. Set Force and Speed 16. Click on the tiny wrench icon at the very top of the window next to Klic 'n Kut model to set the laser offset. This offset may be opposite that used with the Cougar plugin. In the Knk plugin the minus goes on the y not the x like in the cougar plugin. 17. Test with a pen in the holder to determine where the cut will be made. Kim posted some instructions for doing Print and Cut projects to the Cougar using the KNK plugin here. Some video tutorials that may help: Cougar & MTC Print and Cut Using Knife Point Additional videos If you are having connection issues, the Cougar likes the Serial connect better than the USB connection, and it is more reliable. Try the Keyspan Serial Port adapter if your laptop doesn't have a serial port. If you lose the connection between computer and cutter, see some information regardingUSB power settings here. If you have any problems getting the Cougar to work, please contact Rachelann atrachellabrunner@...m Here are some recommendations by Rachelanne: Put your mat orientation to portrait. Put your design work in the bottom right hand side of the mat when finished designing. Set your laser to the 2 inch mark from the bottom right side on your mat. I marked my mat in inches with a marker so I knew where the 2 inch from the right was on the mat. I do not know why, but it just clicked for me and then I just cut away. I hope it makes sense, it sure worked for me. here is a libnk to a calibration video for the cougars and MTC These are not my videos but was given them to help others . http://connectpro18637800.adobeconnect.com/p1n89wvvaz6/ here is a link to PNC video. http://connectpro18637800.adobeconnect.com/p8v21gqe6zi/ and knife point. http://connectpro18637800.adobeconnect.com/p60m4p5uqqm/ These are made using MTC and the Cougars I hope thses will help.
