Question
christine prato
Is there somewhere I can list my 15" Blackcat Cougar machine for sale? I have a ton of accessories to go with it. It is more than I need and too large for the space I have now. I only used it like 2 or 3 times. Thanks, Chris Prato "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOEVER believes on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

In my case, I was emailed the key, so its always there when I need to re-install. Perhaps that is always the case?

Re: MTC Registration Key

Thank you all for the information on retrieving the registration key. I had to get my computer fixed I was afraid I would lose the program but fortunately I didn’t. I was also afraid because I am not computer savvy to try and retrieve the key by unregistering it and then re-registering it. I asked them at the place they fixed my computer if it was possible for them to help me and they did. Cm At first I thought I lost it and my heart dropped but then I did know how to access the clipboard and there it was. I re-registered it and at first it didn’t accept it and then suddenly it did so I still have the program. But through all this experience I’ve aged and I also learned I needed to broaden my horizons and I’ve learned cricket design space after buying a new cutter. But MTC is still my favorite. So thanks again to all who investigated and let us know how to do it.

Very clever, my friend! Thanks for sharing your discovery, Jan!!! On 1/25/2021 1:53 PM, Jan Fox wrote:
Hi everyone, have found a way to still use the gallery from within MTC, just in a different way. First find the image you want. If not available to download, then click on image to enlarge and then simply clip or screenshot it. Copy and paste into pixel trace in normal way....done! I thought the program might also pick up the grid background, but that has not been the case in the ones I have tested. Quick, easy and don't have to leave the program to go searching for the image you want. As I am sure everyone knows, Sandy has very kindly saved most of the images for us all to access, which is much appreciated, but I find this method makes the process much more like how the program was designed to work in the first place. :-) -- Liz A.

I think it depends on how dark the grid is whether it shows up or not. Lowering the threshold can help as long as your outlines are still traced. I had a play with the balloon and found that at 80 threshold the grid disappeared but the black box around it was a problem. It chops off the top of the balloon and if removed, you don't get the correct shape. The first one I tried was "rolled flower" which creates a 3D flower when cut and rolled. You might notice the grid is much lighter and traced well at 135 threshold without bringing in the grid. I then applied shape magic- advanced-thin lines to get rid of the double line. File attached

Hope it works for you, It doesn"t work on every file, the simple ones where all pieces are shown on the mat work best. More detailed ones, those with heavy grid background or those with notes you will still need to get from archive.

Could it be that she needs to set the offset or re-calibrate the machine

Yes, I have tried the double pass. It doesn’t make a difference. 😞 It’s perplexing. I’m not sure if it’s a software or hardware problem. But it’s definitely a problem!
